more in the search of elves

Hi'ya guys! Ok, I've got a question, do you want me to keep posting In The Search of Elves here or at my new cool blog for it. Here are the facts.

In The Search of Elves is really really really long. And, it is, I find, hard to read little bit by little bit, its a much a better story if you can really read it like a book. Also, I could start posting a new story of mine here, I stopped posting In The Search of Elves here.

You are up to Part 13. So, if you want to read it over at my blog, just click Part Thirteen over in the archives and read away! I post more almost every day.

So, tis' your choice, where do you want me to post it from now on? I don't care, I'll do whatever you think is best! :)

Elsa looked around, nervous, and ready to jump up and run if she had to. She cast a glance at her sleeping Grandfather, then, she heard the noise again, this time though, it was different. It sounded like a voice, only a little different. It was a thick gruff voice.

"Hello." it growled

Elsa backed away. "Who, who, are you?"

The voice came from beyond the fire, in the thick darkness. "You may call me Jagen." said the voice.

Who ever it was, was not a human, not with a voice like that. Yet Elsa knew it could not a Crelis. Such a thick voice, so...strong, and powerful.

"What are you?" asked Elsa daringly, casting another look at her Grandfather. Should she wake him?

"Come closer, and you will see me." answered the voice.

"I don't, I really think I want to come closer." said Elsa nervously

There was a sound of laughter. A thick rumbly laughter. "I won't hurt you, so long as you don't hurt me, and you don't seem like the kind of creature who would cause me pain. But very well, since you won't come to me, then I shall come you."

Elsa jumped up, her skirts falling about her.

A slick, dark form appeared from behind the fire. A panther. A lean black panther.

"Oohhh!!" breathed Elsa "You, you, can talk?"

"Yes." purred the cat.

"But you're an animal!"

"Any animal who wants to talk, can talk. But it takes years of practice, and even then as you can see with me, our voices are not as good as yours."

"I didn't know anybody lived here in the Still Woods, at least, I haven't met anyone since we've been here. And we've been traveling for days!"

"It is true, nobody lives here. It is just an empty place. An empty place one must travel through. Now, may I ask where a little girl like you is going?"

"Well... I don't think I can tell you. Well, then again, maybe I can. You aren't Inarian are you?"

"No! Never! I am Median through and through, my lady."

"Oh good! As am I!" then Elsa lowered her voice "We were slaves, my Grandfather and I, but we escaped, and now, now, we're looking for the Elves." she paused making her voice even lower "For war."

Jagen thought it all through, then sighed a happy sigh. "Ah, at last. Your race has suffered long enough. And I am very tired of hiding. Ah, at last the time as dawned for war. I wish you all the luck in the world, my little friend."

"Thank you, by any chance do you know where the elves could be? Because, well, we really haven't the slightest idea."

"I'm afraid don't. I've never in my life met an elf. But if I were you, I'd try the Almeron mountains and beyond. Or maybe even the Tharks mountains. The Fallerin woods wouldn't be a bad place to look either, in fact it would be a very good place to try indeed. Ah, well, that gives you places to look."

"Thank you." said Elsa "Even that helps. Seeing how my Grandfather and I have never even left the slave village once."

"I'd best be going now." purred Jagen slowly "It is never safe for a talking panther to talk too long in this world of evil. I wish you, and your Grandfather, the best of luck. May you find the elves! And also, if it does all come down to war, I am willing to fight at anytime. Leave word with somebody, just about everyone knows me, and I'll come. May luck be with you, little friend!"

Then, quick as he had come, Jagen the panther slipped off into the dark, heading North.

More In The Search of Elves :)

The next day they started out early. Elsa was sore all over from running and sleeping on the ground, but after a bit of walking she began to relax and loosen up.

The Still Woods were rightly named. For nothing moved, or made a sound. Everything was just...still. It was very pretty though. Huge trees, covered in moss, grew up around them, and large colorful slabs of rock could be seen poking up from under the ground after dipping into pools of clear water.

But no animals could be seen or heard. Elsa didn't know where the wolves had gone off to, but she was fine with not seeing them, they could stay hidden forever for all she cared.

So their first day of full traveling went well. They saw nothing unusual and met no one. That night they settled down in a large hallow tree, with a fire burning on the outside. And Elsa, no matter how long she listened, couldn't hear a single wolf.

That night was the best one Elsa had ever had. No worrying about working for her mean owner the next day, no thinking about the evil Inarians, no small cramped cottage, and best of all, she was on a real adventure. A real live one. An adventure to help set her beloved country free again. So what if it was dangerous? She was not afraid of danger of any kind. She could, and would, face it bravely, ever single minute of it.

The next day they continued plodding on. Almost never stopping, for it was sunny and warm, the perfect weather for traveling. When the food they had brought along began to run thin, it was no problem, for the trees were full of fruit and nuts.

The Crelis, who only ate meat, would have starved here, but it was bountiful for Elsa and Grandfather, in fact, it was much better then the poor food they had been given in the slave village.

Every day they went further and further in the Still Woods. The days were long and cheerful and the nights quiet and peaceful.

One night, as Elsa slept by the fire, she was awakened suddenly. But Elsa was very tired, and unsure what could have aroused her, but then she felt something watching her. She turned into the darkness. Something had made a noise, and whatever it was, was walking closer and closer to where she lay.

More, In The Search of Elves (at long last!)

Here's what I lasted posted, in case you have no idea what's going on. :)

The Crelis sniffed and grunted. Then they spoke to each other in their thick gruff voices.

"Lets go back." whined one "We're missing the feast!"

"We will go..." said one "Once we find the slaves."

"Why bother hunting them? They will not survive long. Not with the wolves in this forest. And if they do get by the wolves, witch I doubt they will, but if thy do, they'll be so lost, they'll never come back."

"Alright, alright. Very well. We will go."

And they thundered out of the forest, disappearing in the thick trees.

Elsa and Grandfather slowly made their way down the tree. They woods were dreadfully dark.

"Are there really wolves?" asked Elsa

"I don't know." said Grandfather "I hope not."

Then somewhere, not too far away, there was the lonely howl of a wolf. This was followed by another, even closer.

That night was not a restful one. Grandfather built a fire, but they didn't dare sleep much, for the wolves were very close. Often they could be seen walking throughout the trees.

"Do you know where we are?" asked Elsa

"Hmmmm...yes...I think we're in the Still Woods. Yes, I'm sure that's where we are."

"Do you think there any elves here?"

Grandfather laughed. "Nay child, we are but a few miles away from home! We're still very close to the Inarian city. I don't think the elves want to be that close to the Inarians."

"Where will we head toward tomorrow?"

"The Almeron Mountains, but that is along long way from here. I haven't the slightest idea what we're going to run into."

"Do you think we might find a Unicorn? Or fairies? Dwarfs possibly. Or maybe a dragon...?"

"I don't know, Elsa. I really don't know."

"The Inarians couldn't have killed them all off, could they? There must be at least a few magic things left, right Grandfather?"

"I don't know. But I suppose we are going to find out, aren't we?"

"Oh yes! Yes we are!"

Part Nine of In The Search of Elves

Yikes! I hope I'm not hogging the blog with all my stuff!!! I'll try to slow down, hehehe! But here's another piece of In The Search of Elves. Here was the last part, so you know what's going on.

The Inarian solderers and Crelis jumped froward into the water. Elsa and Grandfather jumped off the raft into the freezing water. It was so cold it took Elsa's breath away.

Elsa could swim well, she had learned as a baby, but her shoes and packs weighed her down. But, she had to keep going. Sink or swim, swim or get caught. She was nearly half way across the river, one little bit at a time. Then, she saw her Grandfather slip under the surface.

There was nothing she could do to help him. The soldiers crowed around her, but Elsa had to keep going. Oh Grandfather!

The water made Elsa's legs and arms numb, but still she didn't stop. She had to reach the shore... Then Grandfather came up from under the water just ahead of her! Elsa breathed a sigh of relief.

Together they climbed up onto the shore. Coughing and staggering about, they ran into the thick dark forest. Two large Crelis were right behind them. Elsa saw them, and gave a cry, forcing herself to go even faster.

Out of breath and out of energy, Elsa went on through the dark, her Grandfather right ahead of her. There were times the Crelis were so close she could feel their hot ugly breath upon her back. But at other times, they were so far behind her, thy could barely be seen.

Then Elsa tripped, ramming into a huge tree. Shaken, but not hurt, she pulled herself back up. The tree didn't look that hard to clime, maybe it would be a good place to hide... "Grandfather! Over here!" Elsa swiftly made it to the top. Hidden in the large branches and thick leaves, Elsa and her Grandfather looked down upon the Crelis who were hunting for them.

Dreadful things the Crelis were. Ugly little creatures with blue-black skin, small piercing eyes, short stocky bodies, and huge curling horns on a few of them. Some of them at fur, and others not. Not all of them had teeth, and only a few had ears. They had pig-like snouts and huge black claws. Though short, they were stronger then most men and just as fast. Crelis were not intelligent, but they were wonderful in war.

Elsa watched as the pair of Crelis sniffed the sky and ground. Would they be found? Elsa held her breath, hoping that they'd just leave.

Part Eight Of In The Search of Elves

Here's another piece of In The Search of Elves. Sorry for the wait! Here's the last part I posted... Tell me what you think!!!

Sticking to the shadows, the two figures, Grandfather and Granddaughter, raced through the dark. Sliding up against the wooden shacks and crawling through the bushes. Often a Inarian guard would walk right by their hiding place, but never were they spotted.

They needed to get to the river, once they got across it there would be nothing but wilderness. Elsa and Grandfather ran on, unseen by the Inarians or Crelis. Then, at last, they got to the river.

It lay ahead of them, shimmering in the moonlight. The thick black forest stood beyond it.

"How do we get across?" asked Elsa "Do we have to swim?"

"Nay, Child, there's a raft. Follow me. But be quiet!"

The stepped quietly along the riverbank, slipping through the reeds and rushes. There was an old wooden dock, with a raft tied on it. Elsa stepped on, followed by Grandfather. They unhitched it and found the pole to steer it with. The river was much wider then it looked, and the water was cold and deep.

Slowly they steered across, but then, they hit the currant. It began pulling them quickly downstream, the opposite of where they wanted to go.

"Oh no!" breathed Elsa.

They fought back, but it did no good. The small raft raced downstream, toward the heart of the Inarian city. They struggled trying to get out of the horrid pull, for if they went into the city they were sure to be spotted. The current pulled them closer and closer to the city, then it brought them into a little bay.

"This isn't good.." whispered Elsa looking at the mobs of partying Inarnians and Crelis, lined along the bay.

"Shhh!" said Grandfather looking at the river bank.

But it was too late. They had been spotted.

There was no use pretending to be Inarian. The Inarians were light and blond while the Medians had dark hair and tannish skin. And the Inarians had a very strong Inarian accent, one that would be impossible to mimic.

"Going for a boat ride are we?" said an Inarian guard.

Elsa and Grandfather said nothing.

"Why are you two out of the slave village? Trying to escape?"

Still Elsa and Grandfather did not answer. What could they do or say?

The guard motioned to his fellow soldiers and a handful of Crelis.

"Take care of em'. You know what to do."

Ferocious cries came from the Inarians and Crelis as they raced into the water. Heading right toward Elsa and Grandfather on the little raft. Elsa screamed, for it seemed there was little they could do.

Part Seven of In The search of Elves

Here's the next part of In The Search of Elves. And here's the last part I posted. Oh! Guess what? I FINISHED it!!! I've been re-writing it all summer... hehehe! It's finally done! Tell me what you think! Thanks!

It was decided that Elsa and Grandfather would escape in one week's time. For that day was a great Inarian feast day, and since they'd all be so busy celebrating, it would be easier to get out.

Carefully, Grandfather and Father made plans, of where they would try to go. There were several mountain ranges and large forests they knew of. all of them would have to be searched.

That week many things were done. Elsa was given a new dress of dark green velvet like cloth, a purple cloak, and a large satchel made of tanned leather. Supplies were bought secretly and packed up carefully. They would leave late in the evening.

It felt like that day would never come, but at last it did.

Elsa stood on the porch in the moonlight. She hugged Mother and Father tightly.

"Behave yourself." said Father "And think before you act or speak."

"Stay safe, love." said Mother "Listen carefully to anybody you talk to, whether it be Grandfather or a stranger. And heed your Grandfather, always do as he tells you."

"I will. I promise." said Elsa

Fabry came onto the porch. Her beautiful eyes wild with excitement. What was going on?Every bit of her seemed to be rejoicing about something. She hugged Elsa tightly, whispering good bye and the best of luck. Then very quickly, so her parents wouldn't hear, she whispered "Elsa, I'm engaged! Joule just asked me, not an hour ago!"

"Oh! Wonderful! Will you be married soon? Before I come back?"

"Probably, I'm sorry, Elsa."

"That's alright, I understand."

"He wishes you the best of luck on your journey." then Fabry hugged her even tighter "Stay safe, little sister. I'm going to miss you!"

The two hugged tightly, as if they never wanted to let go. But Elsa had to leave. Slowly she walked down the steps.

Looking behind her as she left. Taking one last look at Mother and Father. And one last look at her beautiful big sister, he now had a shining ring on her finger.

Walking behind Grandfather, their journey began.

They were in the search of elves at last.

Part Six of In The Search of Elves

Here's the next part of my story. And here's the link to the last part I posted.

At last her Father turned to her. "Ah, Elsa, I suppose you may go."

Elsa jumped up. "Oh thank you! Thank you so much!"

"Your welcome, Elsa. Now off to bed with you!"

Elsa skipped up the stairs and ran into the room, and jumped into the bed. Landing right on top of poor Fabry, he had slipped into her sister's half of the bed. She awoke with a start.

"Elsa! What is going on?"

"I'm going to go searching for the elves! Isn't it great?"

"What? Elsa! What are you talking about? You must have had a dream..."

Elsa laughed, and told Fabry everything that had happened. Fabry listened carefully, taking it all in.

"Would you have gone if Father asked you? Since you don't believe in elves and all."

"I don't know. I suppose so, but I wouldn't want to. And about my not believing in magic and elves, I only say they "probably" don't exist any more. I'm sorry I yelled about it at dinner. I just don't dare believe in such things, because then I'll start to hope in them, and then my hopes will be broken when nothing comes of it. Anyway, I really hope you do find the elves, and I know you'll a lovely a time."

"Yes, i probably will. Though it would be a ton more fun if you came along!"

"I can't. I just can't."

"Why? Oh, I see, Mother and Father wouldn't let both of us go."

"Yes, but not just that. I promised Joule I wouldn't go anywhere."

"Huh? Joule? Our Master's son? Your master?"

"Yes. Him." Fabry laughed.

"Fabry!"

"I know, I know, he's Inarian, and my master at that!"

"Fabry!"

"What?"

"Fabry! Do Mother and Father know you're courting an Inarian?"

"No! And you had better not tell them! I do hate keeping secrets from family, and I will tell sometime, but they can't know yet. Not right now. Just imagine what they'd say! They really wouldn't approve! Nether would his parents. So don't tell anyone anything about us!"

"I won't don't worry. I'm just surprised you're in love with somebody..."

"Goodness, Elsa! I'm eighteen!"

"He's nice right?"

"Oh yes! He hates us being slaves! But there's nothing he can do about it right now. He's very nice. He wants us free as much as we do!"

"Good. I've seen him before... He does look nice."

"He is, trust me."

"Good night, Fabry."

"Good night, Elsa."

That night Elsa dreamed of the adventures she would have and of Fabry getting married.

The next morning the plans for their journey were made. Fabry snuck off early, right after breakfast. Elsa knew she was going to go visit Joule.

Part Five of In The Search of Elves

Here's the next part! And here's the last part I posted, just in case you don't know what's going on. Tell me what you think! Thanks!

Grandfather, Mother, and Father looked at her in surprise.

"Uh, Elsa, why are you not in your bed, dear?" asked Mother looking at the excited Elsa.

Elsa ignored the question and begged to go. "Please? Can't I?"

"Goodness!" said Mother "I've never seen a child so eager in all my life."

"Elsa" said her Father sternly "We don't know if we're really going to do it. And even if we were, we wouldn't send a child!"

"So send a grown up and let me tag along."

"I don't think you realize how dangerous this really is."

"I do! And I don't care. It would be a great deal better then to stay in this old place and work every day."

"You know." said her Mother "Out of everyone, a child is the least specious. If you want to keep this a secret mission, a child is a good person to send."

"But we can't send her off alone! Have you all gone mad?"

"No, I'm just telling you the facts."

Then Grandfather broke in. "Would an old Grandfather and a little girl draw much attention on the road? Because I don't think they would. Do you?"

"Are you volunteering to go?" asked Father

"Well now, I suppose I just did..."

"I say let them go." said Mother "It would do Elsa good to have a change of things."

"Do you realize what dangers are out there? Not to mention the danger of just escaping the village!" Father took a deep breath "Elsa, I want to do what's best for you. And I just don't think it's a good idea to send you off on this. If a child much search, let Fabry go. I mean you no disrespect, Elsa, but she's stronger then you and less likely to be caught. Elsa, I really can't let you go."

"Fabry wouldn't go." whispered Elsa "She's never believed in elves. And she wouldn't now. But I truly believe in them. And you know it."

Father turned to Grandfather. "What made you change your mind?"

"Elsa did. When she charged in here like that she was the spitting image of Alana. In both words and looks."

Alana had been his wife, Elsa's Grandmother, but she had died several years ago. She had been badly injured by falling of the roof of her master's house. Her master had forced her to fix it, and when she hadn't done it fast enough, he had whipped her across the back, causing her to fall. Alana had strongly believed in elves and magic all her life.

"Yes, Elsa looked just like dear Alana when she did what she just did. And Alana would want to do exactly what Elsa's begging for now."

The room grew very quite. Elsa watched her Father carefully. Hoping that he'd change his mind.

Part Four of In The Search of Elves

Here's the last piece, in case you don't know what's going on.

Elsa strained her ears, trying to listen in. her parents and Grandfather were defiantly very upset about something and were close to getting mad at each other. Elsa needed to know what it was all about, so even though she knew she shouldn't, she slipped out of bed and walked slowly down the stairs.

Elsa pressed her ear to the kitchen door to listen in.

"Who was it?" asked her Father gravely

"Rylan and Nester." answered Grandfather

"How many more will it take? asked Mother, she sounded as if she was crying.

"We've just got to face the facts." said Grandfather "This is life. We can't free ourselves."

Rylan and Nestor, they must have been the men who were hung for trying to escape. Elsa felt sick.

"We've got to think of the children." said Mother "I want my girls to have a real life. I see them working their hearts out in the fields every day and it hurts me to see them suffer so. For grown ups its not pleasant, but it's livable. But young girls! It's not right!"

"Yes." agreed Father "We can't just let this keep going on forever."

"So what are we going to do?" asked Grandfather "Fight the Crelis?"

"I didn't say that. Though if we must, we must." said Father gravelly

"You mean to start a war?"

"If it takes one, yes."

"I understand how you feel, but at least lets think about things a little! We are a handful of slaves and nothing more. They are millions of well trained soldiers and horrid beasts. How can we even think of taking them on alone?"

"Nobody said we had to do it alone."

"Well who's going to help us? Asmeld? No, they wouldn't dare get into it."

"The elves will."

"What elves? You know an elf has not been seen for over five hundred years! How do we even know they exist?"

"Weather they exist now or not, I don't know. But I do know for certain they really lived here, in Medina, before the attack. They are worth looking for. Think of how helpful they would be! You know how powerful they are, and their magic! Well if we got them, we'd really have a chance!"

"I just don't think it's a good idea to send somebody off looking for them. Personally, I think it's useless. Besides, how can anybody escape their master alive? And who would we send?"

Elsa could stand it no longer. She wanted nothing more then to meet an elf. She would go looking for the elves. She didn't care how dangerous it was. She wanted to go with all her heart. So, taking a deep breath, she flung the door open.

"I'll go! I'll go for the elves! I'd love to go! Oh please? Please may I go looking for the elves?"

Part Three of In The Search of Elves

Here's the next part of In The Search of Elves! Here's a link to the last part I posted, in case you forget what's going on. Tell me what you think! :)

"So, Grandfather?" asked Elsa "Have you any news for us?"

"Yeess... But it's not good news."

"Tell us anyway." said Elsa's mother sadly

"A few men were caught trying to escape the other night." he paused "They were hung today."

Grandfather shook his head sadly. The dinner table got very quite.

"Well now." said Mother briskly "How was your trip up here?"

"Not too bad. My back didn't give me too much trouble. Tis' just a little bit stuff. It'll always be stiff now, nothing can take it out."

"Magic would!" cried Elsa

"Well now, I suppose it would, if there really was such a thing."

"Oh! But there is! Magic is real!"

"No, it isn't." said Fabry

"Elves use magic!" cried Elsa

"And there's no such thing as elves." said Fabry

"Yes there is! Or least there was... But I bet there still some around here somewhere."

"Girls! Stop!" said their father sternly "We don't know if there are any elves left. They certainly were real many years ago. But now we're not sure. And as for magic, well, some people believe in it, and others don't."

"Well I believe in all." said Elsa her eyes flashing

"As do I!" cried her mother smiling at her.

Fabry just shook her head.

Then the dinner conversation turned to other things. Elsa couldn't help but notice that all the grown ups were...skittish, maybe afraid. They looked like they were very scared of something, but they never mentioned it. What was the matter?

After dinner Elsa and Fabry cleaned up, then said good-night, and went to bed. Fabry soon fell asleep, drifting off into her worlds of dreams and happiness, but Elsa didn't fall asleep. She stayed awake thinking.

Elsa was a firm believer in elves. She longed for nothing more then to meet one. Mother had told her and Fabry stories of them, and other magical things, when they were little. Elsa still believed every word. Fabry didn't.

Down below in the kitchen the grownups were talking. Loud, dark, scary things. They all seemed mad. Curious, Elsa sat up in her bed, trying to listen.

Part Two of In TheSearch of Elves

Here's the second part. Tell me what you think! Here's the last part in case you forget what's going on. Enjoy!

Hundreds and hundreds of years later...

"Elsa! Elsa! Where are you?"

"Oh! Coming! Coming, Mother!"

Fourteen year old Elsa dashed up the dirt road to the small shack. She was dressed in a raggy skirt, a sleeveless shirt, and small leather shoes, and a torn cape. Her long, curly, black hair was done up in a loose knot under her kerchief.

"Elsa! I've been calling you forages. Where have you been?"

"Working, Mother. In the fields today, for old Stupnick."

"Ah, that old trouble maker, eh? Alright, come in a clean up for supper. Grandfather is here!"

"Grandfather! Oh wonderful! Is Fabry home yet?"

"No... I thought she was with you. Ah, well, she'll be home soon enough. Now run along. Once you're clean you can sit with your Grandfather, I'll do the cooking and go find your big sister."

Elsa cleaned up, and skipped into the dark and shabby room.

"Good afternoon, Grandfather!" she called smiling

"And a good afternoon to you, dear grand daughter." he said laughing "How was your day?"

"Not bad. I worked the fields today. Stupnick wasn't too cross."

"Ah, good. I'm glad to hear, Elsa. You're working in the fields now? My, my, you've grown up fast!"

Elsa smiled. It felt like only yesterday she had only done the minor slave work. Such as washing clothes and picking weeds.

Elsa was Median. A true median. The rest of her family was too. Her mother, father, big sister, grandfather, and Elsa herself were all slaves. They belonged to the cruel and heartless Inarians.

Elsa's master was a cruel Crelis. He worked her hard and long in his fields. To him slaves weren't people with thoughts and feelings, but animals. Animals he could do whatever he pleased with.

Fabry had a nicer master. A young man named Joule. But his parents, who owned the rest of her family, were mean and uncaring.

Eventually Elsa's family all came back from their long days work. Her Father looked too tired to take another step, as was her Mother. Elsa herself didn't feel much like moving, and her Grandfather could barely raise his head. But Fabry, even though she did look dirty and hard-worked, flitted about the room happy and cheerful. But it was obvious she had been worked hard.

Fabry was like that. Cheerful and happy almost always. And hoping for a better future. She was very pretty. With dark wavy hair and big blue eyes, and skin paper white.

Dinner was served at the old wooden table. Before they ate, they bowed their heads, and Elsa's father said gravely.

"May the Inarians no longer reign."

And they all answered by saying.

"And may Medina sit on thrown again."

But they had to say it very quietly so no Inarian overseers would hear them. If they did it would cause a lot of trouble. After a few minutes the dinner conversation began. It was grave and unhappy. Only Fabry had happy glowing eyes.

Part One (In The Search of Elves)

Tell me what you think!!!

Many, many years ago, in the beginning of a world, four countries were made. Ulcer, Asmeld, Medina, and Inari.

to the far north was Ulcer. Ulcer was a wasteland, covered in ice and snow all year long. Nobody, except a few humans dared try and live there. Ulcer had a huge mountain range, known as The Tharks, they were the boarder line to Medina and Inari, who were to the south of Ulcer. Ulcer had no ruler, no laws, the small handful of humans that lived there were quite folks, who just struggled to stay alive.

Asmeld was the furthest to the south. A rich land, completely inhabited by large numbers of dwarfs. Asmeld was made mostly up of small hills and sloping valleys. Very warm, it almost never snowed. The dwarfs kept to them selves. Never wanting to do anything with any other country. They were ruled by a kind and very wise dwarf king. And with his help, they soon became the richest and wisest country in the word.

Medina was a beautiful and gentle land. Pleasant weather and gorgeous landscapes. Rivers, forests, lakes, valleys, and mountains. Elves and humans thrived in Medina's small towns, while magical creatures of all sorts lived in the untamed wilderness. The humans and elves had their own rulers, though they often lived together. Medina was in the middle of all the countries, Ulcer to the north, Asmeld to the south, Inari to the east, and the Clacle Sea to the west. Medina was very peaceful and gentle, and had very little people compared to Inari and Asmeld.

Inari was a fierce small land. Ugly, dark, and barren, it was a dreary place. Ruled by an evil master mind of a king, it was not a kind country. Dreadful creatures along with evil man, made their homes in Inari. Inari had a huge, brutal, well trained, army. Not a pleasant place, Inari was feared and hated by all the other countries.

After severe hundred years, Inari attacked Medina in the dead of night. Not expecting anything, and having very little people, they were soon defeated. Asmeld could have helped the poor Medians, but chose not to, for fear of Inari attacking Asmeld. Inari soon took total control over Medina. Killing the human king and elven queen.

They forced all the humans into slavery, giving them almost nothing to live on. The Inarians knew better then to try and enslave the elves, with the strange and magical ways and simply tried to kill them all off, and they almost did. Only a few elves managed to escape. Those that did, fled far into the wilderness of Medina, never returning.

The Inarians also killed off most of the beautiful magical creatures. The unicorns, fairies, spirits, dwarfs, and dragons. Only a small number of these creatures managed to escape. They ones that did hid themselves well, and were rarely seen.

So in less then a year, Medina was destroyed and taken over.

Soon all that was left of the beautiful gentle country was hundreds of slaves and countless evil monsters and men.

These monsters didn't have a name for their breed. Each one of them was different in it's on horrible way. But they were often referred to as"The Crelis". Many years before the attack, they had, had a great warrior named Crelis. He led the monsters into battle, and soon become very famous for his merciless ways. After the years went by, all the monsters were referred to as "Crelis's Army", or simply "Crelis".

As the years went by the Median slaves' hope grew slimmer and slimmer. Forced to do brutal work, till they died, was their awful fate. Dressed in rags and living in small shabby huts, they had almost no hope. They were a dying race, and they knew it wouldn't be long till they were as scarce as the elves and the magical creatures of old.
