Chapter 3!

Chapter 3

The next day, the girls woke up very early. Before breakfast and school they fit in some writing. Only a bit though because they didn't have quite so much time.

At 7:00 the girls went downstairs and found a bowl of oatmeal at each chair.

"Hello, Mom," said Mary.

"Hello, girls. I made some oatmeal for you," she replied.

"Oh yes. Thank you," they smiled.

After breakfast and after they cleaned the kitchen Mother drove them to school in her small blue car.

Elizabeth saw Anne again there and took a seat next her.

Anne whispred to her, "Hi, Lizzie. I think you'll be helping me with my school again today."

"Okay, that's fine. I like doing it," she whispered back.

"Thanks."

Sure."

"Good moring, class," Miss Karrington soon greeted.

"Good morning, Miss Karrington," the whole class greeted back.

"Now, children, I'd like you to do 8 pages of Language," the teacher said.

"Yes, Miss Karrington," said the class.

Elizabeth asked Anne if she needed her help with Language but she said just the reading part.

Today was just a half day so they all went home at noon for lunch.

When the got home they were very hungry and started to eat the tuna sandwiches Mother made for them.

"How was your half day of school today?" asked Mother.

"Oh, fine, Mother, thank you," answered Clare with a smile.

"That's good. It must feel nice just doing a half day."

"Yeah, it does."

After lunch, they went upstairs to write.

"How about the gopher and Sally go on adventures?" suggested Mary.

"Okay," said Clare. "But how should they start them?"

"I'm thinking about that."

"Oh, okay."

"How about they get sent on a mission by a squirrel?"

"Yeah, that'd be really exciting!"

"Okay, write that then."

"All right. But waht mission should they be on?"

"I'm thinking."

"Haha, okay." Mary too awhile to think so Elizabeth decided to help her.

"How about the squirrel lost her little baby and she asks them to find it?" she suggested.

"Great idea, Lizzie! And cute. Okay, write that, Clare, but then I think you should let Elizabeth draw," said Mary.

"Okay," said Clare, starting to write.

After Elizabeth drew, they decided to play outside for a while since it was so beautiful out. They played tag, then played capture the flag, then played on the swing set, bu then they went inside for a snack.

"Mom, Mary and Lizzie and I wanna snack 'cause we're hungry," Clare told her Mother.

"Okay, what do you girls want?" she asked.

"Hm...well, what do you both want?" said Clare. "I can't think of anything."

"How about apple bites with peanut butter on top?" Mary suggested.

"Sure," smiled Mother. "Is that okay with you two?"

"Yeah," they answered.

"All right," said Mother, getting everything ready.

After the snack, Mary and Clare played a board game while Elizabeth read; she loved to read.

Soon Elizabeth wanted to go outside and she got Mary and Clare to go with her.

"How about this time we go in the woods?" Elizabeth said.

"Sure, but we have to get permission first," added Clare.

"Right. I'll go ask Mom," volunteered Mary.

"Okay," they both responded. Mary soon came back, calling to them that she said yes but to be careful.

"Yay," Elizabeth cheered. They walked deep into the woods together, hand in hand.

"Let's go farher; I'm sure there's plenty we haven't seen or explored in this woods," Mary urged.

"Well..." said Clare. "I don't know."

"Come on!"

"Um...okay..."

"Yes! Let's go!" Soon they started to run and have lots of fun. They went deeper and deeper into the woods, until...
