More Of Chapter One

After breakfast, Sarah went into the living room and started to play with their puppy; But Evelyn went outside again and rode on one of her favorite horses through their lovely apple orchard. Rosie wanted to go outside again too, so she dropped what she was doing and ran outside following Evelyn. “I wanna come too” Rosie said. “Oh alright” Evelyn said back. Evelyn took her horse out of the stable carefully and helped her little sister and herself onto Moonlight, which is the name of her horse. They rode through the orchard, Rosie laughed with excitement, and she loved riding with her sister who she looked up to so much. Their puppy in the house was named Sparky it was a very cute puppy. Sarah had got the puppy for her birthday, when she was just turning nine years old. Their puppy was a beautiful tan color. Mama was washing the dishes inside, and called Evelyn in to help her clean the kitchen. Sarah always had the job of sweeping the floor, so she did that, and cleared the table. Evelyn and Rosie came inside fast. “Oh she is just so cute!” exclaimed Rosie.

“Yeah really cute” said Sarah. “Come here doggy” said Rosie. “I will feed you your breakfast. The girls just finished cleaning the kitchen. “Thank you for helping me girls” Mama said. “Come on, let’s go play tag outside”

Exclaimed Evelyn. “Okay” said Sarah. So they went outside to play. The grass was still wet from the dew, and apple the blossom tree was so pretty with the sun shining on it. They loved to play outside in the mornings when the sun was just rising. A little while later Samuel and Isaac came to play too. They played until they were tired out and came inside. The girls went up to their room, crafted, and did their hair, which they loved to do. Evelyn did Sarah’s and Rosie’s hair in French braids. Evelyn just had hers in a pony tail because Sarah could not do hair that well. Then Mama read a book to Rosie, her favorite one. The boys played a game of checkers. The two girls went outside again, after reading their books a bit, and visited the chickens. Sarah tried to pick one up, but the chicken just kept on flapping her wings and running along the chicken coop. But finally Evelyn caught her in her arms tightly. “Good girly!” Evelyn exclaimed. “I’ll try to hold another one.” said Sarah. And she went to get her very own calm chicken named Goldie, very pretty and easy to pick up. She found her laying an egg. “She laid an egg!” Sarah said excitedly. “Wow, bring it in to Mama!” exclaimed Evelyn. So Sarah did, and Mama put it in the fridge, with the other eggs. “Thank you honey” Mama said. “You’re welcome” Sarah said, and went right back outside. “Let’s play a game now!” exclaimed Evelyn. Ok Let’s go get Rosie” Said Sarah, and Evelyn went inside and got Rosie. They played a game of capture the flag. And the boys played too. “Ah man you win!” exclaimed the girls after they played the game.
