What should I put in next?

In the fantasy story I'm writing, I've already had the main character meet several creatures on her adventure. So far she's met a talking panther, a dwarf, and a bunch of fairies. Plus she just escaped some of her enemies.

Who or what should she meet next? I really, really, don't want to copy of other fantasies, so I kind of have to be careful what I put in it. (Like no fawns, centaurs, or talking trees.)

She can't meet an elf, because the whole adventure is about her going off to look for elves.

And she wouln't have to meet somebody, she could find something, that would eaither be helpful or maybe dangerous. So what do you think? What should she find, or who should she meet next?

Thanks!

Maybe she could find a rocky cliff or a huge, strong river that is impossible to get over, or has to go under a huge cave, or meets a bird that can communicate with her, and knows the way to the Elves.

Just a suggestion!

Very interesting! Well I like the idea of her finding some thing dangerous! It would be dramatic! And there is nothing I like more then a dramatic story.

Maybe...hhmmm....how about she finds a bear, or some kind of dangorouse animal? That would be very exciting!

It is my professional opinion that you should make her find something! Something...something...good like a magic gem or jewel that has some special power. But oh this would be good! But they don't know it! The power is it can bring you any where. They find out that and, boom poof pow they are at the elves. Just a suggestion. But people do usually take my advice very seriously for I am a professor! I have a hole library full of my books that I wrote!

Wow! Thanks everybody! I've got a lot to work with now.

And Professor, thank you, but don't you think you should be getting back to "Word-Girl" now?

Who's professor James Duhicky?! Perhaps she could lose her direction and wind up in a evil king's or witches castle and becomes their slave? then an old slave knows how to get to the elves and they both escape? or maybe she meets an elf and they both become slaves together and escape together?

Guys, I'm sorry, I deleted those comments! I had an idea but it was too long and complicated and it ended up being a whole story of it's own!!! LOL. I don't really have any other ideas.....
